77th anniversary of breaking the Leningrad siege
Vladimir Putin took part in commemorative events devoted to the 77th anniversary of the breakthrough at the siege of Leningrad.
The President laid flowers at the Rubezhniy Kamen memorial at the Nevsky Pyatachok battlefield and visited the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery where he honored the dead Leningraders by laying a floral wreath at the Mother Motherland monument.
On Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg, the President got acquainted with the complex of artistic three-dimensional historical panoramas, Memory Speaking. The Road Through War.
Then the President visited the Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, where he met veterans of the Great Patriotic War and representatives of public patriotic associations. Before the meeting, Vladimir Putin viewed the updated museum exposition.
