Red Square hosts military parade commemorating the 75 the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
The main military parade in honor of the 75 th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War began at 10 AM on Red Square in Moscow.
The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu left the gates of the Spasskaya Tower in the Moscow Kremlin in an Aurus cabriolet to review the troops. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, who is the parade commander, met him in the same car. After the report of the parade commander to the Minister, both generals began a joint detour of the dismounted crews.
The parade on Red Square will be attended by more than 14 thousand military personnel, 234 units of historical and modern ground military equipment and 75 aircraft. The parade includes 40 dismounted crews of the armed forces and other law enforcement agencies, students and cadets of military universities, Suvorov and Nakhimov Military Colleges, as well as Young Army сadets.
Military men from 13 foreign countries also participate in the parade: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China,
Moldova, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
This year, the leaders of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Serbia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia came to the Victory Parade in Moscow. The Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev, the Head of the EEC Mikhail Myasnikovich and the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas will also attend the event.
