Mobile Exhibition for 75th Victory Anniversary to Be Held in 19 Russian Cities

The exhibition will be held in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Vladivostok, Tyumen, Pskov, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Sevastopol, and other cities.

The "Memory of Generations: the Great Patriotic War in Fine Art" mobile exhibition will be presented in 19 Russian cities in 2020. Olga Yarilova, Deputy Minister of Culture for the Russian Federation, announced this at the expert working group meeting of the State Duma Committee for parliamentary control over implementing the national "Culture" project.

"We approved the list of federal and regional exhibition projects. The main project, which is mobile and will be represented in the maximum number of regions, is entitled 'Memory of Generations: the Great Patriotic War in Fine Art' and will be dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory. The project will be presented in 19 cities across the country and will feature exhibits from both the leading federal museums and regional museums," Yarilova said.

The exhibition will be held in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Vladivostok, Tyumen, Pskov, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Sevastopol, and other cities.

In July 2019, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin signed a decree for the Year of Memory and Glory in 2020, in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. According to plans for the 75th Victory anniversary commemoration, all war veterans will be awarded with a Jubilee Medal "75 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945." The document contains 116 events including a military parade in Red Square, a solemn reception in the name of the Russian president, and a gala concert with fireworks in Red Square which will be held on May 9, 2020.
